The Half Step and Whole Step

Before I present the chromatic scale, I would like to go over whole steps and half steps. Simply put, a whole step and a half step are terms used to describe the measurement between two intervals/pitches. A whole step is two half steps put together. Here is a visual example of a whole and half step:
