A Reminder HB

Jeff

As you know, review is key to progressing and playing the way you want to play. The next couple pages are review, and they will help you refine your skills. The benefits we gain through review are significant. Here are some things to think about.

Skip or Not Skip?

At times you may feel you can skip a certain exercise, or something may be too easy. If you want to improve quickly on the saxophone, then follow this step:

Do not skip anything

Even if you are comfortable with a specific exercise, keep on playing them for the remainder of the week.

Why?

As we repeatedly practice music, we begin to solidify our ability to play music with consistency (You will see this in our approach to scales). When musicians get up in front of people to perform, those who have repeated their music correctly numerous times tend to have successful experiences. Those who don’t, simply, do not have as many successful performances. This is a key practice approach of professional musicians.

So remember:

  1. Stick to the process (Don’t skip anything)
  2. Gain consistency through correct repetition
  3. Be patient with repetition and you’ll have success!

Are You Ready?

You are going to be great!

You’ll become better and better as you consistently practice. Have fun and please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
